Ashi Box- A wonderful box filled with surprises!

C Pischel

You may have seen a number of subscription boxes geared toward yogis pop up over the last year or two.  I have tried a few out and most are filled with a variety of different products from lip balm to socks.  I came across a new box called Ashi Box on Instagram a couple of months ago.  The first box they were releasing was a Ganesh box.  As a lover of Ganesh I was intrigued to learn more about this new box and how it could possibly be different from other boxes I have purchased in the past.  I visited their website and this is what I found, "Ashi Box is a monthly yoga subscription box curated by a yoga practitioner and India lover. Each Ashi box is designed to deepen your holistic yoga practice, and will include yoga love, India love, and life love."

Interesting, this is more than just small sized products or a new type of tea? I had to learn more so I reached out to the owner Heather to introduce myself and learn more about the box contents.  Unfortunately at the time the Ganesh box had been shipped by the time I reached out but I learned a lot about Heather, he vision and mission to spread overall yoga love to the box subscribers.  Heather went to India to hand pick the items for her box.  Some items she even crafted herself.  Her love and passion is held within each box.  After a few emails we became friends and I asked about the Ganesh box and to my luck she had one left which I quickly purchased and I was not disappointed.

The second box the Diwali Ashi Box focuses on the 5-day festival of lights.  I have outlined the contents of the box below and have included pictures (iPhone pictures so sorry for some of the quality).

Here is a picture of the beautiful box with all of it's contents.  I felt like I was opening a surprise birthday present.  The smell of the box was delicious before I even opened it.

Here are two items.  An unscented soy candle from IlluminationStudios on Etsy.  They are located in seattle.  I love that she got the candle from a small company. The Rangoli- inspired quilled candle holder is handmade in Colorado (yay for local businesses).  It is amazing and I can't even imagine how one would make it.  This is also from an Etsy seller ALatteJoy.  I burned the candle with the holder attached with my dancing Ganesh at home.  He enjoyed it.

This is why the box smelled so good!  This pacha soap smells amazing!  For every bar purchased Pacha gives away a bar.  I haven't tried the soap yet, it is keeping my house smelling amazing though.

This Rudraksha and rose quartz mala bracelet is currently on my wrist.  It is handmade by Heather using Rudraksha seeds from India and Lakshmi inspired rose quartz.  I love it, and it is a bonus my favorite color is pink :)

This Wei of Chocolate is organic with a touch of Himalayan sea salt.  It is a darker chocolate and very delicious.  I can't wait to get more.

Brass Lakshmi Statue.  I have been looking for a brass Lakshimi statue for our Foursee Apparel table.  I have looked at several different places and although I have found several, none have spoke to me.  It was because this one was destined to be in my box.  It has attended two yoga events with me so far and I plan on taking it each time.  When it is not on our table it is with Ganesh on his alter at home.  Heather found this statue in India and fell in love with it.  She actually had to go to several different shops to find enough for the boxes.  I am lucky it came to me.

This is one of my favorite items from the box.  A Rangoli-inspired notebook.  This beautiful notebook is handmade in India from 100% recycled paper.  It is inspired by the intricate Rangoli designs created to welcome Lakshmi during Diwali.  I haven't decided what I will use it for yet but it will have to be something special.

This is a recycled Varanasi silk Sari.  This beautiful sari is a vibrant pink color.  It is very lovely and smells like the Pacha soap.

I love supporting small businesses and purchasing their items.  This box (and the prior one) are real gems and I hope this new business is around for a very long time.  If you want your own Ashi box visit their website www.ashibox.com

I am anxious to see what the other boxes have.  This is a box with a purpose, to enlighten, provide joy and to educate.  Please check them out.

XOXO Christina
